Mets Tidbits:
- Manager Terry Collins stated prior to tonight’s game that outfielder Juan Lagares will start Sunday against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester. You can expect Lagares to be activated off the disabled list within the next day or so. Lagares is in the lineup for Game 1 of Binghamton’s doubleheader on Friday night.
- Reliever Jim Henderson is expected to start and pitch an inning for Binghamton in the second game of today’s doubleheader against New Hampshire. Henderson has been on the DL since June 21 with right bicep tendonitis.
- Shortstop now third baseman, Jose Reyes was 0-4 while playing 9 innings at third base last night for Binghamton. Reyes is 1-17 with two runs scored and two RBI in four games, but the Mets are mainly focused on Reyes becoming comfortable at the hot-corner than his offensive output in Binghamton.
