Mets starting rotation is set for second half

The New York Mets have set the order of their starting five-man rotation heading into the second half of the season. Bartolo Colon will start tomorrow night’s second half opener in Philadelphia against Phillies right-hander Jeremy Hellickson. He will be followed by Logan Verrett on Saturday and Jacob deGrom on Sunday.

When the Mets make a trip to Wrigley Field on Monday, the Mets will open with left-hander Steven Matz, with Noah Syndergaard following on Tuesday. The Mets are going to try and give Syndergaard as much rest as possible coming out of the All Star break after he departed his last start with arm fatigue.

The Mets return to the field tomorrow night at 7:05 pm et against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park and can be seen on SNY. The pitching matchups for this weekend’s series are provided below.

Friday: Bartolo Colon RHP (7-4, 3.28 ERA) vs. Jeremy Hellickson RHP (6-6, 3.92 ERA)

Saturday: Logan Verrett RHP (3-6, 4.34 ERA) vs. Jerad Eickhoff RHP (6-10, 3.80 ERA)

Sunday: Jacob deGrom RHP (5-4, 2.61 ERA) vs. Zach Eflin RHP (2-2, 4.08 ERA)
